- Cahaba Pump Station Renovation and Addition
Birmingham, AL
KHAFRA received the Birmingham Historical Society Preservation Award for its renovation design to convert these historic facilities into a museum complex. KHAFRA provided architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical and civil engineering services.
- US 80 Interpretive Center and Rest Area
Selma to Montgomery National Historical Trail
Selma, AL
KHAFRA provided architectural, civil and structural engineering services to design the 12,235 square foot building, which is located at a site Civil Rights marchers used as an overnight campsite during the 1965 Selma to Montgomery Voting Rights March.

- Centennial Olympic Park Pedestrian Pathway
Atlanta, GA
KHAFRA provided electrical utility design for this pathway used to showcase the southeast during the Centennial Olympic Games held in Atlanta, GA.
- Selma Riverfront Park
(adjacent to the Edmond Pettus Bridge)
Selma, AL
KHAFRA developed a master plan and conceptual design for this 36-acre underdeveloped area adjacent to the Edmond Pettus bridge. This project included the renovation of the Southern Railway Building.
- Kentucky's Center for African-American Heritage
Louisville, KY
KHAFRA developed an Environmental Risk Management Plan for converting a historic transportation facility into a cultural center promoting Kentucky's African-American heritage.
- Prince Hall Masonic Lodge
Birmingham, AL
KHAFRA provided structural, mechanical and electrical engineering services for the renovation of the historic Prince Hall Masonic Lodge at 4th Avenue and 17th Street North in downtown Birmingham.
- Arthur D. Shores Law Center
Birmingham, AL
KHAFRA provided architectural and engineering design services for the renovation/adaptive reuse of a collection of "Store Front" retail space into a new $2.3 million, three-story office complex. This facility is located in the historic Civil Rights District in the City of Birmingham.
